These calculations are based on a known FLOW RATE of water through the device and a known FEED RATE of dechlorination solution (mixture of Vita-D-Chlor and water) into the device. This is useful for devices like the Dechlorinator and the H2O Neutralizer as well as homemade venturis. It is also for the use of metering pumps into a flow.

When using it, it is important to remember that your feed solution of Vita-D-Chlor and water has limitations. Generally no more than 1 pound of Vita-D-Chlor can be mixed into a gallon of water. This concentration can be increased to 4 pounds per gallon if you choose to use Vita-D-Chlor Neutral. The calculator equations are suitable for both VDC and VDC Neutral.

Grams of Vita-D-Chlor per gallon of water = (3 x Flow x PPM) / (5 x Feed)

Flow=Flow rate of water through the device in gallons per minute (GPM)
PPM=Parts per million of Chlorine to be treated
Feed=Feed rate of dechlorination solution into the device in gallons per hour (GPH)
