VITA-D-CHLOR - DECHLORINATION CHEMICALS
Vita-D-Chlor is a more environmentally conscious method of dechlorination than traditional sulfur-based chemicals. Unlike sulfur-based compounds, Vita-D-Chlor is not toxic to humans or animals, nor does it deplete oxygen in treated water. Key benefits are enhanced environmental protection, operator safety and public acceptance. Vita-D-Chlor provides a safe and effective means of complying with EPA regulations for the dechlorination of water prior to flushing into streams, lakes and groundwater. Vita-D-Chlor is the only Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) with NSF certification for dechlorinating water. Vita-D-Chlor is 100% organic, completely soluble, and provides a safe, rapid and complete method of dechlorination. Vita-D-Chlor completely neutralizes both chlorine and chloramines.
A feed solution made with Vita-D-Chlor will have a pH of about 2-3. Therefore, under some circumstances, the use of Vita-D-Chlor can potentially drop the pH of the treated water. For those situations where pH is a concern, we recommend using Vita-D-Chlor Neutral.
VITA-D-CHLOR Neutral
Vita-D-Chlor Neutral is the only Sodium Ascorbate with NSF certification for dechlorinating water. Vita-D-Chlor Neutral is also 100% organic and has all of the same dechorination benefits as Vita-D-Chlor. There are two key advantages to using Vita-D-Chlor Neutral instead of original Vita-D-Chlor. The first is that the material is over four times more soluble. It dissolves more quickly and easily and can be used to make a more highly concentrated feed solution than original Vita-D-Chlor. The second advantage is that a feed solution made with Vita-D-Chlor Neutral will have a pH around 7.5. Consequently, it will not adversely affect water that has a neutral pH of 6-8, even when used in high concentrations.
VITA-D-CHLOR Tablets
Vita-D-Chlor Tablets are the only dechlorination tablets that utilize Vitamin C chemistry. They are 100% soluble and 100% organic. Unlike tablets made with sulfur compounds, they contain no ingredients that could be toxic to fish and other aquatic life.
One Vita-D-Chlor Tablet is capable of neutralizing approximately 8,500 gallons of water with 1 ppm chlorine. Tablets are well-suited for chlorine neutralization in hydrant flushes as well as line flushes of both municipal water and super-chlorinated water. They are fast-dissolving and can accommodate a high volume of water over a short period of time. Tablets placed in a strong water stream last about three to five minutes. Vita-D-Chlor Tablets are commonly used with dechorination/diffuser equipment as well as with simple tools such as socks, bags or mats. These tools make dechlorination while using tablets very simple, safe and practical for field use.
VITA-D-CHLOR Slo-Tabs
Vita-D-Chlor Slo-Tabs utilize the same safe Vitamin C chemistry as our original Vita-D-Chlor Tablets. Slo-Tabs dissolve at a rate which is 7 to 10 times slower than the regular tablets, making them a viable option for applications that require longer periods between tablet changes, such as auto flushing units.
Vita-D-Chlor Slo-Tabs are 100% soluble and 100% organic. One Vita-D-Chlor Slo-Tab is capable of neutralizing approximately 7,500 gallons of water with 1 ppm chlorine.
