Formula and guidance

Given a volume of water and a specific residual chlorine level, our reservoir calculator returns the amount of Vita‑D‑Chlor that is needed to treat the water. Dispersing Vita‑D‑Chlor throughout the total volume of water may require some engineering work on your part. Generally, the best approach that will also help avoid having the material settle to the bottom without dispersing is mixing a concentrate and then adding it to the larger volume of water.

Formula

Pounds of Vita‑D‑Chlor = Gal x PPM / 45,400
Kilograms of Vita‑D‑Chlor = Gal x PPM / 100,000

where

Gal=Gallons of water to be treated
PPM=Parts per million of chlorine to be treated

While the statements, information and data provided herein are believed to be accurate and reliable, they are presented without guarantee, warranty, or responsibility of any kind, expressed or implied. This information is based on general calculation for the dechlorinization capabilities of Vita‑D‑Chlor™. It is intended only to assist in determining the quantity of material to purchase and is not a statement of the actual quantity of Vita‑D‑Chlor™ required to neutralize chlorine. Different attributes of different water will affect your actual results. Prior to being released into the environment, all treated water must be tested to ensure that complete dechlorination has been achieved.
